Jaguar XJ220 was once considered to be one of the fastest constructed cars in the world. But due to lack of tires, it is now inoperative if you believe it. But soon we have good news for you if you are the owner of supercar Jaguar XJ220, and the good news is that now you can able to drive your car and the value of this supercar is also going to rise.
According to Guinness Book of World Records, this model of Jaguar was the fastest Jaguar ever built and world’s fastest car from 1994 to 1999, before the McLaren F1.
Due to some economic reasons, it was a failure at its launch in 1992, and only 271 models were made, making the XJ220 highly collectible. So there were no extra tires designed for this car, only burnout or one puncture was available due to which owners never drove it again.
Now the company Bridgestone that made the fine quality tires announced last week that they are going to put a team together to made new tires that can fulfill the car’s voracious demands. The Vice President Consumer OE at Bridgestone’s Europe, Christophe de Valroger said, “It’s very important to keep such iconic vehicles running today. Technology has moved on significantly in the last 25 years and we believe we will be able to produce a tire that will keep the smile on the face of the enthusiast drivers of the XJ220.” It is hard to figure out that why the bespoke tires are a good idea but this is what the Valroger said when he mentioned technology advances since 1992.
The team which also includes the car’s original chief development engineer and test driver are doing their work and Bridgestone aiming to make new tires ready for the start of 2017 at the 25th birthday of XJ220.
