At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, Ford revealed their latest GT model which won the hearts of fans and critics alike. Now Ford has started to take an online application for the GT. In just a month they have received more than 6,500 applications for the car. Keeping in mind the price tag of $400,000, this amount of applications is quite overwhelming.
More than 2,000 people have used Ford’s web application to choose their favorite colors, wheels and interior design to build a perfect GT for them. Most of these people share their virtual GT on social media. This social media presence has increased the potential owner’s chance to connect with Ford in a way that will eventually help the GT to become the ultimate sports car of America.
Ford recently revealed that they are currently scrutinizing all the applicants that are applied online and will finalize in 90 days that who will get to own its supercar.
Earlier Ford announced the opening of application in April, they said they will produce the limited number of GT’s that will allow the selected applicants to have a customize GT for their own taste.
The $400,000 price that Ford revealed for the GT doesn’t include destination charges, delivery charges, and potential tax.
There will only be 500 GT supercars to be built in the first two years of production.
