Fisker Karma to make a Return under a New Name and The Company

Henrik Fisker, the man who designed some of the most iconic and best-looking cars in the automotive industries (Aston Martin DB9 and BMW Z8 to be exact), is quite famous in the industry circles. His first design and creation, Fisker Karma, didn’t really stick in the real world so you might not know much about it. The original Fisker Karma was released in 2008 with the sole purpose of being an ecologically friendly dream car but unfortunately, after just selling 3000 units in five years, the company proved to bust and got wrapped up.

Now after a much consideration and refresh, things are looking good for Karma. They will be releasing their new car under the name Karma Revero which will be a plug-in hybrid under the banner of Karma automotive. James Taylor, Karma’s Chief Marketing Officer said, “Karma is based on the principle of cause and effect, where your actions create your future. This awareness of what we are doing and why we are doing it which we categorize as acting with intention is what we stand for, it’s authentic.”

The Karma Revero follows the same design structure as its deceased sibling Fisker Karma. It features the exact same solar roof like before but now Karma Automotive claims that it generates enough energy to power the car but it still needs to be tested in the real world conditions. The Karma logo on front and the back are painted by hand.

The infotainment system in the car is heavily updated now, and thankfully they didn’t pick up from where they left back in 2008. Karma automotive says, “Our new infotainment system represents a departure from the norm. It is simple, intuitive and beautiful. If you like a 200-page supplement to the owner’s manual to describe your infotainment system, look elsewhere.”

Much like the Fisker Karma, the Karma Revero is not meant to be a mainstream car but an exclusive one. At the price tag of $100,000, Karma Revero will have to rival hybrids like BMW i8 and Honda Acura NSX which is quite a steep task to achieve.

James Taylor said, “Serving a mass market is not, and never will be our purpose. The Revero is for a discerning group of individuals who desire beautiful, clean vehicles and a memorable ownership experience. We are thrilled to start this journey.”

For the interested one’s, the pre-order for Karma Revero will start on Sep 8, meanwhile, you can enjoy little teaser for the car.
