Elvis Presley’s Legendary BMW to be Unveiled at Pebble Beach

Elvis Presley was mostly famous for his music and undisputed King of Rock n Roll but he was also a great lover of cars. He had too many historic and legendary cars in his garage. At the next Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, Elvis Presley 1957 BMW 507 Series I Roadster will be presented as the main showcase of BMW Centennial Display. People who not only love Elvis Presley but also a fan of this car will able to see its reveal on August 21 at Pebble Beach along with other classic BMWs.

Elvis may have given his heart many times but his true love always remained with 3.3 liter V8 powered Roadster designed by Albert Graf Goertz. He immediately falls in love with the car when he first saw it at Autodrome de Linas-Montlhery in France. Later to quench his love, he bought the car in December 1958. Exterior of the car had pristine feather white color as the car made the statement parked in the garage. Whenever he arrived in the car, the car gets covered in phone numbers, kisses and pledged of devotion from his enthusiastic fans.

As the time passed the color of the car worn out and Elvis repainted it to bright red color, which obviously made the car more noticeable but the true identity and the charm of the car had perished. Later in 1960’s, he sold the car for an unclosed amount to a buyer. BMW deems the success of their 507 Series I to Elvis Presley. At the Pebble Beach, the car is going to have a huge asking price even if it wasn’t in the ownership of “The King”.

As of now the car is in the possession of BMW Group Classic. Two years ago they went on to restore the car to its original shape which also include its original shade of feather white. The car will make an appearance alongside two of its BMW siblings that are painted by artists Jeff Koons and Alexander Calder.
